Gunmen kill Miyetti Allah chairman
The Katsina State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Surajo Leader, and two others have been killed when gunmen invaded Mai Rana community in Kusada local government Aarea of the state.
Penpushing reports that the gunmen during the invasion on Saturday night also abducted two of the deceased wives and his daughter, who is an undergraduate student, while as at the time of filing this report the deceased has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites amidst apprehension in the area.
The Katsina State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the incident, explaining that police operatives responded and engaged the gunmen in a shootout, forcing them to flee, leaving one of their operational vehicles and one of the abducted wives.
Penpushing further reports that Aliyu, an assistant superintendent of police, disclosed that efforts were ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and arrest the gunmen, urging the public to assist the police with any credible information on the whereabouts of the fleeing criminals
