Gunmen kill man few days to wedding
A man identified as Danladi who is said to be the son of Seriki Hausa and preparing for his wedding scheduled to hold in December has been shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists, at a close range while sitting at a friend’s shop.
Penpushing reports that a source who doesn’t want his name in print said the incident happened at the shop which is about 100 metres from the Esigie Police Division in Oredo Local Government Area, one of the municipal council areas in Edo.
The source added the gunmen emerged from a GLK Benz SUV and shot him twice at a close range, lamenting that the death has created a huge vacuum in his family and a painful loss to his would-be wife, adding that the deceased had already started invitation cards for his wedding guest before the sad incident.
‘Danladi is an easygoing guy. He was the son of Seriki Hausa in the area. His death has created a huge vacuum in his family and a painful loss to his would-be wife. He had started sending invitation cards for his wedding to guests. He was billed to tie the knot with his partner in December,” the source said.
Penpushing further reports that the Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Moses Yamu, when contacted regretted the renewed cult killings in the state, assuring that the command is doing everything within the law to tame cultism in the state
The police spokesperson who is a superintendent of police, however, called on the public to give useful information to the police to help in the fight against cultism and cult-related crimes in the state, just as he said the situation has been brought under control,
