Gunmen kidnap Polytechnic Rector, other management staff

The Acting Rector of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Emmanuel Barki, has been kidnapped alongside some members of management staff of the institution while on their way to Ugbokolo, after an official trip to Makurdi.

Penpushing reports that Benue State Police Command Public Relations Officer Sewuese Anene, while confirming the incident, said the driver of the institution was part of those victims of the suspected kidnappers

The sources, however, indicated that the abductees were herded into the bush with their vehicle abandoned on the highway, while also confirming the incident the adviser to the Benue Governor on Internal Security Joseph Har, said that security personnel had swung into action to rescue the victims.
