Gunmen kidnap Chief Imam of Ondo community
The Chief Imam of Uso community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State Ibrahim Bodunde-Oyinlade has been abducted abducted on his farm at Asolo Farm Camp, while the kidnappers have contacted the family but are yet to demand ransom
Penpushing reports that a family member said the 67-year-old cleric did not return home by 2 p.m. and calls to his mobile phone were not answered, hence, a report was made to the police, adding that the kidnappers were yet to demand ransom as at the time they contacted the family
The Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, however, confirmed the incident, adding that police officers and vigilantes were combing the forest in search of the chief imam.
Penpushing further reports that Odunlami-Omisanya disclosed that the victim’s car and mobile phone were found at the farm, adding that case was reported to the police by the family at about 6pm on Saturday
‘It was at about 6 p.m. that the family members came to report the incident at the police station in USO community. The DPO, policemen and vigilantes are searching the area for possible rescue,” he added.
