Gunmen invade Leprosy centre, abduct babies, nurses, security guards
Gunmen have invaded the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre (NTLC) in Zaria, Kaduna State and abducted babies, nurses and security guards from the residential quarters of the centre
Penpushing reports that, the bandits stormed the vicinity known as Saye District in the outskirts of Zaria a nearby forest and, engaged police officers in a gun duel before escaping with their victims,
The area is identified as close to notorious Sabon Birni, Galadima and Malu Forests where armed bandits keep their victims hostage.
Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, was quoted to have confirmed the incident, adding that efforts were ongoing by the Nigerian troop to rescue the victims.’
