
Gunmen abduct high court judge
Gunmen have abducted Justice E.J. Umokoro at the car park of a eatery, and whisked him away in a waiting Toyota Hilux after sporadic gun shot within the vicinity in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Penpushing reports that Bayelsa Police Command Public Relations Officer Musa Mohammed, confirmed the kidnapping of the judge of State High Court which occurred on Saturday at Ekeki area of Yenagoa.
“Umokoro, a judge at Bayelsa State High Court, was on Saturday evening abducted from his car at a fast-food outlet at Ekeki area of Yenagoa. The command has deployed tactical teams and drones to trail and arrest the hoodlums’, he said.
Penpushing further reports that the judge was said to be waiting for his daughter, who had gone into the outlet to make some purchases, when the gunmen suddenly struck, as people ran helter-skelter.
