“We at APDA YLF received with great shock the news of Chief Olu-Falae’s farm being razed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Ondo State. As much as we sympathize with the eminent leader(Chief Falae), we also appeal to good people of Nigeria to set aside any political, religion or ethnic sentiments so as to enable the relevant security authorities concentrate on how issues, especially, bothering on national security be promptly addressed”,the body said
The statement, however advised the Federal Government to harness the economic potentials of cattle rearing by encouraging these business owners to set up mechanized cattle farming just as it is being done in Texas, USA.
“Agriculture has greatly and immensely contributed to our GDP and has helped reduced unemployment challenges in our society. Hence the need for government to braze up to her primary responsibilities to protect lives and properties of her citizens. Fulani Herdsmen should be educated on the benefits of ranches than this primitive accustomed method of roving inside the forest”
“We believed that with effective operational ranches, the welfare of the herdsmen will improve dramatically, there will be economic activities around these ranches and these will create more jobs for their people and other Nigerians”
