GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: OGUN ALLIED PEOPLES MOVEMENT PETITION IS DESTINED TO FAIL, TRIBUNAL RULES

The judgment, however, brought massive jubilation and excitement, for supporters of the ruling party as the news spread across the state, while it is recalled that Akinlade had approached the Tribunal to contest the declaration of Abiodun as the duly winner of the poll, having polled 241,670 votes as against the his(Akinlade) who scored 222,153 votes.

Penpushing further reports that, the tribunal added that Abiodun was duly elected by virtue of scoring the highest number of valid votes cast by the voters and declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying the Tribunal concur with it and has no reason whatsoever to tinker with the outcome of the March 9 governorship election in Ogun State.

Speaking with Penpushing, Abideen Sanusi, a resident of Abeokuta, said that he was happy because Abiodun is a good leader and he has plans for the youths, adding, “I am very happy for the outcome of this judgement, why? Because Abiodun is a very good leader and the judgment for him is a good one. Even for we the youths, we are happy and we are glad for him winning the case”

Penpushing also reports that, Falolu Christopher, from Yewa South, in his own reaction said, “firstly, the court did a good job by declaring him the winner, and secondly when he came to Yewa South, he refurbished our diaplitatated hospital facilities and this is why we are praying that he should win this petition. Now we are praying that God will help him in his next bid. Amen”
