Governor’s aide dies 24 hours after appointment

The Special Adviser on Works to Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, Engr Ahmad Ishaq has been reported dead a day after his appointment was announced on Monday, January 6 2025

Penpushing reports that the appointment of Ishaq was announced while he was on treatment in an Egyptian hospital, while it is recalled that the Governor said the appointment signalled his administration’s renewed focus on infrastructure development.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Sanusi Bature, who announced the demise of the aide in a statement described the death as a tragic and an irreparable loss to Kano State, deceased family, and the wider political community, and prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for his family to bear the painful loss.

‘This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Ahmad Ishaq was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt’, Bature wrote.

Penpushing further reports that the statement added that the appointment underscored his commitment to assembling a competent team to drive the state’s development agenda.
