Governor Yahaya Bello unveils anointed successor in Kogi state
The Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has unveiled his choice candidate Ahmed Usman-Ododo, who is the state’s auditor-general and is to contest under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the governorship poll
Penpushing reports that the Chairman of the primary election committee, Governor Mohammed Bello-Matawale of Zamfara, confirmed the development after Thursday’s meeting which was hosted by Yahaya Bello.
The development saw the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja and other aspirants which include: David Adebanji-Jimoh(former Commissioner for Finance), Ashiru Idris, Okala Yakubu, Abdulkareem Asuku, (Chief of Staff to Governor Bello) and Momoh Jibrin( State’s Accountant-General).
“All other aspirants who have not withdrawn from the race are free to participate in Friday’s direct primary election to be held across the state. The gentlemanly agreement was reached and announced at a stakeholders meeting of the party held on Thursday in Lokoja,’’ he said.
Penpushing further reports that the Deputy Governor while announcing his withdrawal thanked Governor Bello and his supporters for their love enjoined his supporters to allow love, patience and perseverance to lead at Friday’s primary election and at the 11 November governorship election in the state.
