Governor Sanwo-Olu, FirstBank condole Onasanya over mother’s death
The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has commiserated with the former Group Managing Director of First Bank, Dr Bisi Onasanya on the loss of his mother Mrs. Selimot Olaleye Elizabeth Onasanya (Nee Folorunsho), who passed on November 16, 2023.
Penpushing reports that in a condolence message acknowledged the impact of the loss on him and the entire Onasanya family,and praised the deceased legacy noting her significant contributions to family values, kindness, discipline, and godliness.
“Mama was indeed a matriarch, whose life was a testament to the enduring values of hard work, honesty, and love for family. At 88, she had lived a fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark not just on her family but on the people whose lives she touched. Her nurturing resilience and dedication to family and community are traits that we will always cherish when we remember her,’ Sanwoolu wrote.
“I understand that no amount of words can take away the pain you feel at this time, but please take solace in the fact that she lived a worthy and impactful life. Her legacy lives on in you, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her values, teaching, and love will continue to guide and inspire generations of your family. Please accept my deepest condolences on behalf of the government and people of Lagos State, and indeed, on my own behalf, for this significant loss”,he added
Penpushing further reports that in similar vein management of first bank in a condolence letter through its Chief Executive Efficer Dr. Adesola Adeduntan recognized the deceased remarkable life, underscoring her lasting legacy of kindness, discipline, and uprightness
“On behalf of the Board and staff of FirstBank, I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your beloved mother, the late Mrs. Selimot Olaleye Elizabeth Onasanya (Nee Folorunsho), who lived to the ripe age of 88 years”, the letter reads
“The passing of such a wonderful woman must be a huge loss, not only to you but to the entire Onasanya family. However, I urge you to find solace in the fact that Mama lived a long, noteworthy, and fulfilled life. Her outstanding qualities and lasting legacy of kindness, discipline, exemplary family values, godliness, and uprightness will be fondly remembered by many”.
“At FirstBank, we share in your grief and extend our heartfelt sympathy to you, your entire family, friends, and well-wishers on this painful and irreparable loss. May Almighty God grant her soul peaceful rest, comfort you and the entire family at this time of grief, and grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Penpushing reports that a statement by the family stated that burial rites for the deceased is scheduled to take place on December 14, 2023, with a burial service at the Abundant Life Baptist Church, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State, at 9 am, adding that the service will be followed by an interment at the Ikoyi Cemetery (private wing), strictly for family members while a reception will follow at 2 pm in Victoria Island in Lagos.
