Governor Makinde tasks corps members on nation building

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has tasked corps members to give their best during their service year which would invariably help in contributing towards nation building.
Penpushing reports that the Governor made this call on Thursday, while speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2020 batch ‘A’ stream 1 corps members deployed to the State at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, urged the corps members to avail themselves to every activities lined up for them during the 3-weeks orientation program.
Penpushing further reports that, he also welcomed the newly appointed Oyo State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe and wished her a successful tenure in office, and urged the corps members to use this opportunity to acquire skills that will enable them become employers of labour and wealth creators during and after their service year.
The Governor however assured the corps members that his administration would create a conducive environment for them and equally ensure their safety in the State during their service year.
Penpushing also reports that earlier in her address, the Oyo State National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, assured the corps members of their commitment to their wellbeing during the course of the 3-weeks orientation program.
The Coordinator noted that several measures have been put in place by the management to prevent the spread of the coronavirus during the orientation program, while the chief Judge of the State who was represented by Hon. Justice Aderonke Aderemi also inaugurated the 2076 prospective corps members, comprising of 1,020 males and 1056 females.
Penpushing reports that, the management equally assured parents and guardians of the safety of the corps members noting that all corps members were screened before gaining entrance into the camp ground.
