Governor Adeleke organizes dance competition for osun state civil servants

The embattled Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has organized dance competition among other funfare for civil servants in the state which is aimed to celebrate the annual valentine day scheduled to hold on February 14.

Penpushing reports that the notorious known dancing Governor gave his consent for the competition, following a circular from the Head of Service Office, dated February 10, 2023 and signed by K.N Akintola which highlighted number of games to be participated in.

The  copy of the circular with reference number SMD.61 Vol. IV/5 was sent to Secretary to the State Government; Chief of Staff; Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Non-Ministerial Departments; Directors-General,Executive Secretaries and General Managers; as well as  All Heads of Local Government Administration.

Penpushing further reports that the circular titled,’ Annual Valentine Day Celebration’ explained that the competition will take place on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at White House Car Park, Abere.Osogbo the state capital.

The circular said the program will feature competitions in Table Tennis, Draft, Ayo Olopon,Ludo, Dressing Parade, Dancing Competition, Questions and Answers among others, stressing that the celebration is strictly for the civil servants.

‘This year 2023 Annual Valentine Day Celebration for the entire Public Servants in the State comes up on Tuesday, 14th February, 2023 at White House Car Park, Abere. The program will feature: Table Tennis, Draft,Ayo Olopon, Ludo ,Dressing Parade, Dancing Competition, Questions and Answers among others’, the circular reads.

‘Consequently, Public Servants who are interested in the above games are to register with Comrade Agboola on Phone No. 08034648367 and Comrade Semiu on Phone No. 08061674458. Please note that only those who register will be allowed to participate in the games’, the circular emphasised.

‘The Executive Governor ,Osun State,His Excellency,Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is the Father of Love for the day while the Head of Service is the Chief Host. Therefore all members of Staff are to be seated by 10:00am’, Akintola wrote.

Penpushing also reports that the circular emphasized that all Accounting Officers of Ministries, Department and Agencies and Heads of non-Ministerial Agencies including Local Government as well as Local Council Development Authorities are requested to comply

Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has sacked the Governor  from office, barely two months on assumption of office, and directed that certificate of return earlier issued to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be withdrawn.

The panel headed by Justice Terste Kume annulled the election of Adeleke who was the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and declared Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the poll

Penpushing further reports that the tribunal equally directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Adeleke and his Deputy, Kola Adewusi, both of whom had been sworn in, and should instead be issued to Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The panel held that the governorship election was not held in compliance with Nigeria’s Electoral Act, and  was characterized by over-voting, noting that  after deducting the excessive votes, the figure Oyetola polled at the election was 314, 921, and therefore ordered that Oyetola should be returned as Governor of Osun State.

Meanwhile, the controversial Governor, has thereafter the judgement which ordered his removal from office headed to the appeal court to contest the judgment, said not to be in his favour, and equally found it as uncalled for.
