Governor Abiodun unveils renovated governor’s office
The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has unveiled the newly remodeled Executive Council Chambers at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, explaining that the upgrade was part of his administration’s long-term urban renewal and infrastructure regeneration agenda.
Penpushing reports that Abiodun in a Friday statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), on Friday stated that the former chambers had deteriorated significantly, prompting the decision to remodel rather than construct an entirely new Governor’s Office.
“We reaffirmed our commitment to delivering infrastructure that will stand the test of time as Chief Olusegun Osoba unveiled the newly remodeled Executive Council Chambers at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta’, Abiodun wrote.
Penpushing further reports that he stated that the previous state of the facility was unacceptable, pointing out that the remodel was intentionally chosen to demonstrate prudence and seriousness in governance.
“The former structure had fallen into embarrassing decay, and we deliberately chose to remodel rather than build a new Governor’s Office to demonstrate seriousness and create a modern, functional space’, he said.
Penpushing also reports that Abiodun boasted that the redesigned chambers were equipped with advanced features to enhance governance efficiency.
“The upgraded chambers now feature state-of-the-art technology, enhanced lighting, digital systems, and executive seating to support effective decision-making,” he stated.
Penpushing reports that Abiodun emphasised that the project forms part of a wider regeneration effort across key urban areas in the state.
“This project is part of our broader regeneration and Urban Renewal Programme, which includes the facelift of major landmarks such as the Ibara GRA. It aligns with our ISEYA pillars, through which we continue to deliver improvements in infrastructure, security, health, education, and housing’, he added.
Penpushing further reports that Abiodun appreciated the role of his Executive Council members and paid tribute to former Governor Olusegun Osoba, who commissioned the remodeled chambers.
The Governor reiterated that his administration remained focused on creating a conducive environment for economic growth and investor confidence.
“We remain focused on creating an enabling environment that inspires confidence in investors and supports long-term growth. With every regeneration project we complete, we move closer to building the Ogun State our people deserve — structured, progressive, and prepared for the future,” Abiodun wrote.
Penpushing also reports that he equally referenced Osoba’s commendation of ongoing state renewal projects, and in same vein appreciated the contributions of the Executive Council members
“His commendation of the ongoing transformation, including our remodeling of the MKO Abiola Stadium and Cultural Centre, strengthens our resolve to keep rebranding Ogun State into a modern, forward-looking destination. We appreciated the contributions of our Executive Council members and paid tribute to Chief Osoba for his leadership and enduring support,” he stated.
