Governor abiodun mobilizes contractors to complete abandoned projects, silence on amount of fund released
The Ogun State Government has mobilized contractors handling abandoned projects by the immediate past administration of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, to commence work without further delay.
Penpushing reports that, the Governor was reported to have encouraged the contractors of the various projects to return to site, but was silence on the outstanding of the contractors, as well as how much was d for them to continued and complete the work.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya who made the revelation during inspection of some ongoing construction of roads and flyovers, which included the Asphalt laying of the Kuto Flyover, Mokola Bridge, along Ajitadun-Adatan Road, as well as Panseke-Adigbe Road, among others said the decision was in fulfillment of the administration social-contract with the people of the State, .
Penpushing further reports that, Akinsanya reiterated the State Government’s determination at ensuring the completion of all legacy projects in the State, to boost socio-economic activities, saying government had release funds to expedite action in executing the numerous abandoned projects.
“Let me categorically point out that the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration has released funds to ensure speedy conclusion of all abandon projects by the previous administration. It is alarming that most of these projects have been awarded since 2012 and 2013”, he said.
Penpushing also reports the Project Manager, China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), Engr. Sewell Zhao,in his remarks said release of the needed fund was timely, adding that it would fast track the completion of the projects, thereby relieving the stress of motorists, commuters and other road users.
The motorists and other road users in their responses applauded the intervention, saying the road constructions, when fully completed would ease traffic in the State, while a site engineer, Marc Semman while speaking with journalists assured that the project would be delivered in record time and would meet international standard.
