Governor Abiodun donates sport utility vehicles to traditional rulers in Ogun State
The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has donated 20 brand new sports utility vehicles to the four councils of traditionalrulers comprising Rgba, Ijebu, Remo and Yewa, said to be the to be the first phase of the gestures
Penpushing reports that Abiodun announced the gestures on Tuesday after his meeting with the royal fathers held at the Obas complext at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital, and in addition donated four 18- seater buses for the four traditional divisions for transporting their chiefs.
The Governor while speaking at the meeting
called for their commitment to vote for him and his team for continuity of the goodies when he returns, adding that he would not relent in his efforts towards making the state great, and also used the opportunity to appeal to protesters over cash and fuel scarcity to exercise patience with the government.
Penpushing further reports that Abiodun pleaded with the royal fathers to help douse the tension through their intervention, noting that the relevance of traditional rulers cannot be ignored in attaining good governance.
“As the nearest to the grassroot, please help to plead for patience as efforts are atop to ameliorate the situation”, the Governor pleaded
Penpushing also reports that Abiodun at the meeting, lamented on the current hardship brought about by an otherwise necessary financial engineering to reorder the societal priorities in the nation’s economy, as he gave directives, on the need for resolving the issues of 75 coronets appointed by his predecessor but yet to be approved while others due for promotion would be reviewed.
