Governor Abiodun approves career advancement for graduate primary school teachers

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the career advancement of Graduate Primary School Teachers (Tutor Cadre) from grade level. 16 to grade level 17.

Penpushing reports that Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya made this known in a statement, explaining that the decision aims to address stagnation at the peak of the cadre and enhance motivation, ensuring improved service delivery in the primary education system.

The statement added that the Governor also approved a consolidated salary structure for Head-Teacher General, thereby upgrading their status, stating that this move reinforces the state’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting its workforce

Penpushing further reports that Onasanya explained that the policy decision on the elongation follows a review of existing career progression frameworks and is designed to improve learning outcomes which indeed underscored the Governor ‘s magnanimous disposition to the welfare of workers

The Head of Service said the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been directed to implement this policy immediately, emphasizing that this development, aligned with the ISEYA pillar of the administration, reaffirming Ogun State’s role as the education hub of the country.

Penpushing also reports that he said the Abiodun-led administration remains focused on implementing progressive policies to enhance educational development, urging the teaching workforce to remain committed to efficient service delivery.
