
Governor Abiodun appoints four new permanent secretaries
The Ogun State Government has appointed four new permanent secretaries said to have been chosen meticulously from the pool of Directors who were successful in the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme which is a prerequisite for eligibility for appointment into top leadership positions in the State Civil/Public Service.
Penpushing reports that Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya made this known in a statement explaining that it was part of ongoing efforts to enhance and strengthen the quality of the Civil/Public Service in Ogun State.
The statement added that the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the approval, stressing those appointed are Mrs. AderonkeTokunbo-Peters and Adejumo Adeyemi which is in addition to the appointment of Dr. Ogunsanya Olaitan and Mr. Abdul Olubamiro earlier announced in November, 2024.
Penpushing further reports that Onasanya said the swearing-in is scheduled to hold coming week, stating that the Governor made the appointments in accordance with the provisions of Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
The statement explained that prior to their appointment, Mrs. Tokunbo-Peters who joined the Civil Service of Ogun State on 23rd September, 1993 was the Director of Tourism Development and Promotions at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Penpushing also reports that she holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Business Administration from the Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye in 1991 while Mr. Adejumo Adeyemi who was appointed into the Civil Service on 1st December, 2000 was the Director of Administration and Supplies, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration and possesses a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in 1995.
The Head of Service, said the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are encouraged to demonstrate stern dedication and selflessness in their new roles through the ‘Building Our Future Together’ Agenda under the leadership of the Governor.
Penpushing reports that Onasanya added that the appointees are enjoined to contribute meaningfully towards the realization of a more efficient and progressive Civil/Public Service,adding that the swearing-in ceremony of all the new appointees shall be conducted by the Governor in due course.
