Gbenga Daniel wins senatorial election in ogun state
The Senatorial Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun-East Senatorial District of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has won the seat to represent the state at the national assembly having scored 115,147 votes.
Penpushing reports that the two term Governor of Ogun State was announced as the winner in a result read by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof Christopher Onwuka.
The results made public at the at the collation centre in Itoro Hall, Ijebu-Ode on Sunday added that Daniel’s close rival Ajibola Kalejaiye of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), recorded 58,708 votes at the poll.
“I, Prof. Christopher Onwuka, by the powers conferred on me, as the INEC Returning Officer for this election and having scored the highest number of votes, hereby declared Gbenga Daniel of APC winner of the election,” he said.
