Fraudsters begin sale of fake admission forms into newly established Federal University of Medicine Medical Sciences Abeokuta
Suspected fraudsters have launched dubious activities to hijack operations of the newly established Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences Abeokuta (FUMMSA) Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Penpushing reports that investigation revealed that the fraudsters have opened a fake website and bank account for sale of admission forms into the nursing and midwifery programme of the institution.
The scammers in the fake attempt to extort money from unsuspected students for 2025/2026 academic session for the college of nursing said the forms for admission is now on sale, asking the prospective students to reach out to one Dr. (Mrs) Chiamaka Grace Imasuen on telephone number 09069994000.
Penpushing further reports that the fraudsters in same vein said the applicants for post basic nursing course and those for internship can apply and pay into a designated bank account
The fraudsters added that there is also nursing form into perioperative nursing cardiothoracic nursing, ophthalmic nursing, anesthetic nursing that leads to the award of Registered Nurse Certificate (RN) And Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSC).
Penpushing also reports that the fraudsters equally called on the innocent applicants for pharmacy, optometry medicine and surgery, dentist and veterinary to apply and can contact administrative office for help
The bank account provided by the suspected scammers is 4453972478 said to be of Microfinance bank with name Federal Medicine and Medical Sciences Abeokuta Bursary Department
Penpushing reports that in one of the messages sent to their targets, the fraudsters wrote that that the sales of the forms put at N35,000 only is scheduled to close on August 3, 2025w
‘The cost of the form is 35200 naira. Mind you the sales of the form is closing today. Scan it after filling and send it back to me on WhatsApp. It’s 400k for everything as fresh student. But subsequently you will be paying 200k per year’, the message reads
Penpushing further reports that the scammers in related development called on job seekers interested to work at the institution to approach them, with payment of a prescribed fee to obtain forms
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report findings showed that one of the innocent prospective applicants have fallen victims to the deceit having coughed out the sum of N250,000 to the fraudsters.
