Four killed in separate crashes on Ogun state roads
The Federal Road Safety Corps, Frsc, Ogun State Command on Saturday confirmed that a total of three road traffic crashes were recorded on Friday , claiming lives of four persons and nine sustaining various degree of injuries.
Penpushing reports that, the command spokesperson, Florence Okpe disclosed this in a statement, adding that the crashes occurred at different locations on the Ogun state axis of the roads on Lagos-Ibadan expressway and Abeokuta-Sagamu dual carriage
The Command image maker said the first crash occurred at about 10,30am in Showo axis of Abeokuta – Sagamu route involving two vehicles with registration number AKM125AA, a Mazda bus number KRD34CW, stating that 5 persons were involved, in which three of them sustained injuries but no death was recorded from the crash .
Penpushing further reports that, she explained that, the suspected causes of the crash were tyre burst and excessive speed, adding that the Injured were rescued to the Hospital.
“The second crash occurred at about 1330hrs along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around Arepo bus stop. 03 persons were involved all male adults, 02 persons sustained injuries, 01 death was recorded from the crash. 01 vehicle was involved with registration number AYE428UL, a motor bike”, she said
Penpushing also reports that, Okpe said the suspected cause of the lone crash was dangerous driving, explaining that, the injured victims were rescued to ROA Hospital, Arepo, near Mowe for medical attention while the corpse of the killed victim was deposited at Idera Hospital Morgue, Sagamu
“The third crash occurred at about 19.49hrs along the Lagos -Ibadan expressway around Long bridge, near Mowe. 04 persons were involved all male adults 01 of them sustained injury and the other 03 male adults died from the crash 02 vehicles were involved with registration numbers KTU421CA, a Toyota camry and the second vehicle is with registration number GGE723QF , a motor bike Boxer BAJAJ”, she said.
Penpushing reports that, Okpe explained that the suspected causes of the multiple crash were route violation(driving against traffic ) and dangerous driving, adding that the injured victim was rescued to the Hosiptal and the corpses were deposited at Idera Hospital Morgue, Sagamu while the obstruction cleared
