Four customs officers cheat death, as vehicle summersaults while pursuing smugglers
Four officers of the Nigeria Customs Service narrowly escaped death, but sustained various degree of injuries while pursuing suspected smugglers along Eket-Oron Road, in Akwa Ibom State as their vehicle summersaulted multiple times,
Penpushing reports that, the Public Relations Officer of customs, Joseph Attah confirmed the crash but debunked claim on the facebook, that the officials lost their lives, explaining, ‘no customs official died in the accident as being rumoured on Facebook’.
“They only sustained injuries. They are responding to treatment. You know Nigerians, whenever somebody has an accident instead of them to help you they will just be snapping photos. Now, they don’t even know if the persons are okay!”
Penpushing further reports that as at the time of filing this report, The identity of the officers is unknown, just as Attah said that it is part of the hazards their officials go through daily while doing their job.
The photos of the customs green colour pick up van, with the inscription, ‘Strike Force Team Zone C’ on its body was noticed with blood stain. and the pursued suspected smugglers Sienna car, was also badly damaged, and parked near the customs truck, by the roadside.
