Foundation partners Nigerian government to train civil society organizations on monitoring of Home Grown School Feeding Programme
The Child First Welfare Foundation Nigeria partners in conjunction with the Nigerian have trained twenty Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the monitoring of the Home Grown School Feeding Programme in Ogun state
Penpushing reports that, the one day training took place at the Women Development Centre Oke Ilewo Abeokuta with participants drawn from civil societies and Non-Governmental Organisations across Ogun State.
The training also had in attendance representatives from Ogun State Ministry of Special Duties, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), which involved the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Service, Disaster management and Social Development
Penpushing further reports that the National Lead of Child First Nigeria Mrs. Peju Osoba explained that the objective of the workshop was to familiarise participants with the Home Grown School Feeding Programme, its aims and objectives.
The pioneer chairperson of Child Network Protection (CPN) in Ogun State, added that the programme was design and developed in order to prepare the beneficiaries with knowledge required for their roles in monitoring the programme in Ogun State.
Penpushing also reports that, Head of Strategy and Advocacy, Mr. Peter Olakunle, while facilitating a session noted that the participating NON Government Organisations(NGOs) will be further briefed on the monitoring exercise which is expected to be a continuous one.
Meanwhile, the participants at the training in response expressed their readiness to partner with the Government in achieving the aims and objectives of this laudable programme.
