November Poll: Anambra Refinement Group announces George Moghalu as governorship candidate for Labour Party

The Labour Party (LP) has announced Chief Dr. George Moghalu as its official gubernatorial candidate for the November 2025 election, describing his emergence as dawn of a new beginning in the state.

Penpushing reports that Anambra Refinement Group made this known in a statement by its Media and Public Affairs Division adding that Moghalu’s vision for Anambra’s economic rebirth is anchored on five strategic pillars.

The statement identified the pillars as launching state-backed access-to-credit programs for youth, women, and creative entrepreneurs, establishing processing hubs for cassava, rice, poultry, and palm produce, with export incentives and leveraging his experience to convert Onitsha into a world-class trade gateway

Penpushing further reports that others are reviving heritage cities and supporting creative industries with investment-ready policies and stablishing coding academies and incubation labs across all three senatorial zones

The group added that with over two decades of unwavering public service, administrative excellence, and national influence, Moghalu emerges not only as a candidate, but as a defining symbol of transformative leadership for Anambra State.

Penpushing also reports that the statement pointed out that Moghalu’s political journey began at the dawn of the Fourth Republic in 1999, where he quickly distinguished himself as a visionary within the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

The statement added that Moghalu as a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he later served as National Auditor, advocating internal transparency and party reform.

‘His appointment as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) in 2019 cemented his reputation as a result-oriented technocrat, transforming Nigeria’s inland maritime infrastructure, streamlining operations, and introducing private-sector partnerships to previously underutilized sectors’, the group stated.
