FORMER MINISTER’S SON REGAINS FREEDOM FROM KIDNAPPERS, DETAILS SKETCHY

The police chieftain accompanied by the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Sina Olukolu stormed a farm in the village suspected to be the operational base of the kidnappers to access the situation and map out strategy to free the victim and arrest the abductors.

It is recalled that, the Minister’s son, Dayo Adewole was  on Tuesday  evening abducted by four unknown gunmen , at Iroko, near Fiditi, Afijio local Government  Area of Oyo State., and  the abductors kept mute

Penpushing further reports that,  Dayo was singled out  in the midst of his staff by the kidnappers before he was whisked . He was a graduate of Agriculture and opted for mechanised farming, where many young people were employed.

The Oyo State  Police Command  Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi  was earlier quoted saying that,, ‘in search of the victim, the Assistant Inspector General of Police ( AIG) Leye Oyebade and the state commissioner of police, Shina Olukolu and other senior officers of the Command on Wednesday afternoon stormed the farm where the victim was abducted’.

Penpushung also reports that, the police spokesman pointed out that aside the senior police officers, other security agencies which include the army, were also on the farm to access the situation and ensured the release of the captive,

The Command spokesman but added that, there has been no communication yet from the abductors, but however, noted that all hands are on deck to effect the release of the ex-Minister’s son and arrest the criminals.

 “The man, Dayo Adewole was abducted by four gunmen around 6:30pm at iroko. The Area Commander in Moniya and other patrol teams had been alerted and are presently giving the armed men, a hot chase.

“We are on their trail as I speak with you and more deployments had been made to rescue the guy and track down the abductors, the vehicle with which the gunmen abducted the guy had been discovered’, he stated.

‘The abductors were yet to contact the family on their motive and the condition of their victim. A source said Dayo was waylaid at gunpoint on his farm in Iroko. Although there were some staff with Dayo, the abductors went for him as a prime target. It was gathered that the kidnappers later took Dayo away to an unknown destination.”

‘The villagers were alerted by the staff who survived the ordeal. Local hunters were mobilised by the Onirsai of Iroko, the hunters were said to have located the car of the abductors along the road to Iware village near Iroko’.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police was quoted saying that the culprits who were responsible for the dastardly act have nowhere to hide, assuring the people of adequate security of lives and property.

Meanwhile, when contacted late night on Wednesday on the update, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Sina Olukolu , confirmed the release of the victim, saying, ’yes released by his captors, details sketchy please’
