Former Governor Obiano alive, former aide debunks death rumours
The rumoured death of former Governor of Anambra State Willie Obiano circulated on social media, has been refuted, a report described as provocative and unfounded.
Penpushing reports that former Anambra State Commissioner for Information under Obiano, who ruled between 2014 to 2022, C-Don Adinuba, who faulted the report insisted that the former governor is alive and well with his family in America
The former commissioner confirmed that Obiano is hale and hearty in Houston, United States of America (USA), where he currently resides, contrary to falsehood that he died in London.
“I have been asked some probing questions by journalists and have heard a provocative rumour about the death of former Governor Willie Obiano. The rumour is not true. I just spoke with the former governor and members of his family a few minutes ago. He is hale and hearty in Houston, United States, where he resides’,

Penpushing further reports that Adinuba urged the public to disregard the claims, and in same vein Obiano’s personal publicist, Tony Nezianya, said he had not received any information confirming the rumours.
The former Governor who hails from Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area, it would be recalled succeeded Peter Obi, and handed over to the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, in March 2022.
Penpushing also reports that Obiano born on August 8, 1955 is currently under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N4 billion fraud.
