FORMER FLYING EAGLES GOALKEEPER, RAYMOND KING BURIED
The deceased during his soccer career also played for IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Abiola Babes FC of Abeokuta, and at a time goalkeeper trainer for Gateway FC, Abeokuta, Ogun State Government owned soccer team
He started his soccer career during his Secondary School days at Methodist High School, Ibadan, St Finbarrs College Lagos and was a member of the Flying Eagles that raised Nigerian flag during the 1983 under 21 world Cup in Mexico, The first FIFA international tournament to be attended by any Nigerian team.
King was at one time a goalkeeper trainer for Gateway FC, Abeokuta, but his appointment was terminated alongside some other technical crew of the club, following poor performance, and remained jobless for a period of over eight years till date took him away
In his sermon at the burial service, Rev Dr Isaac Adeyemi of the Trinity Faith Mission International, Omida, Abeokuta admonished the congregation to be steadfast and serve God wholeheartedly as death is inevitable
Meanwhile the remains of the flamboyant goalkeeper were later buried cemetery of Anglican Church located in Kobape, Abeokuta where family members perform the dust to dust rites.
