Five killed in Lagos-Ibadan expressway auto crash

Five persons were on Tuesday killed and two others seriously injured in a ghastly auto crash involving four vehicles in Iperu axis of Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Penpushing reports that, Ogun State Command Public Education Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe in a statement said 10 persons which comprises of 8 male adult and 2 female adult were involved in the crash.

The Command spokesperson added further that, as at the time of filing this report, four of corpses were deposited at the mortuary and one taken away by the family for burial, adding that, 2 persons injured which include one male adult and one female adult and were taken away by the relatives

Penpushing also reports that, the  Superintendent Route Commander  said the suspected causes of the fatal  crash were dangerous driving and excessive speed which led to loss of control, and gave details of the involved vehicles as: Mack Trailer with number plate; UWN 279YT,Iveco Truck AAB 973ZY,as well as tricycle with registration number PKA 438 UN and LSD 566QF

The Command Sector Commander, Ahmed described the crash as avoidable  act and advised  motorists to avoid  excessive speed and dangerous driving and also obey traffic rules and regulations

Penpushing further reports that, Ahmed commiserated with the families of the victims of the crash and enjoined them to contact the Command in Sagamu for details of the crash and reclaim the properties of the victims recovered from the scene of the crash.
