Five die in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash

Five persons have been reported killed in an auto crash involving a Toyota Haice bus with registration number KAA601XA which occurred on Wednesday in Ogere axis along Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Penpushing reports that, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe made this known in a statement, adding that the crash involved a total of fourteen persons.

‘A total of 14 persons were involved which comprised of 07 male adult, 04 female adult, 01 male child and 02 female children. A total of 09 persons were injured ( 05 male adult, 03 female adult and 01male  child) 05 persons were recorded death from the crash ( 02 male adult, 01 female adult and 02 female children) .01 vehicle was involved with registration number KAA601XA a Toyota Haice bus’, Okpe said

Penpushing further reports that, the Route Commander of the Sector, explained that, the suspected cause of the lone crash was mechanical deficiency which resulted to fire out break while the vehicle was still on motion

The statement said as at the time of filing this report, the injured persons were rushed to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical treatment, while the corpses deposited at FOS Ipara morgue, adding that, the command is pained over the sad development

‘The injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at FOS IPARA MORGUE. The Sector Commander is deeply pained by the unfortunate incidents and wishes the families of the deceased the strength to bear their losses. He also advised motorists to always put their vehicles in good condition before planning for any trip
