First civilian governor of Abịa State, Ogbonnaya Onu dies at 72
The first civilian governor of Abịa State, Ogbonnaya Onu has been reported dead in a hospital, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but cause of death was not made available as at the time of filing this report.
Penpushing reports that the 72-year-old deceased hailed from Ụbụrụ in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and was the Minister of Science and Technology in the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
The late former Governor and Minister it is recalled resigned from the Buhari administration to contest for the Presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2022 but lost to President Bola Tinubu.
