Fire guts Christ Embassy church headquarters in Lagos
The headquarters of Christ Embassy church located in Oregun area of Ikeja Lagos, which is led by the flamboyant Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was on Sunday gutted by fire, while as at the time of filing this report could not be ascertained until after proper investigation.
Penpushing reports that it was not clear if congregants were in the church at the time the fire started but a fire truck could be seen near the building indicating fire service officials were present as at the time of the incident.
The Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) Magaret Adeseye confirmed the incident explaining that the fire that engulfed the main auditorium of the church headquarters, adding that fire escalated because the church’s fire service thought it could handle the situation without recourse to the Lagos fire service.
Penpushing further reports that Adeseye said as at the time of the incident and while filing this report the cause of the fire could not be ascertained at the moment until after proper investigation.
