Federal Road Safety Corps commissions 121 cadets, positions academy for world class status

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Thursday commissioned 121 officers following successful completion of an intensive Marshals Conversion Course at the Corps Academy, Udi in Enugu State

Penpushing reports that, the ceremony had in attendance Heads of sister security agencies, political and traditional rulers, as well as family members of the newly commissioned officers, while the passing out parade by the 121 Cadets took place at the  Academy Parade Ground.

The officers were thereafter decorated with their new ranks of Assistant Route Commander (ARC)   and there were unveiling at a peeping ceremony held inside the Commission’s Academy Ultra Modern Thearter.

Penpushing further reports that during the conversation course the following cadets distinguished themselves and were recognised accordingly-  overall best graduating cadet  – Yusuf Pokyes,  Commandant’s Award – Oni Bosede Mercy , Best Behaved (Female) – Nyan Husseina, Best Behaved (Male) –  Adamu Muazu , Best in Drills (Male) – Ajiji Mohammed, Best in Drills (Female) – Nick Sonia Ngozi and  Best in Academics – Odey Naomi

The Special Guest of Honour at the passing out parade and peeping ceremony, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi in his address charged the young officers to imbibe the training received at the Academy especially on handling violent offenders.

Penpushing also reports that, the Corps Marshal represented by the Deputy Corps Marshal Training, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) , DCM Shehu Alkali Zak  tasked the graduated officers on managing stressful patrol operations and considering the impact of the social media, positively project at all times  the image of the corps and the country during the discharge of their responsibilities .

The Corps Marshal pointed out that with their training and injection into patrol operations, the corps expects drastic reduction nationwide in cases of violent attacks of  operatives and elimination of  high handedness by any  patrol operative.

Penpushing reports that, the Commandant of the Academy, Assistant Corps Marshal Clement Oladele, in his remarks commended the corps marshal for the robust support and provision of logistics which accounted for a successful training programme for the year 2019 Marshals Conversion Course.

The Commandant pledged to work hard in actualising the corps aspiration of transforming the Academy into a top notched Degree Awarding institution and a world class regional center of excellence for road safety management in Africa.
