Federal Road Safety Corps appoints Umar Ahmed acting zonal commanding officer
The former Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Umar Ahmed who served between July 2020 to July 2023, has been appointed as the Acting Zonal Commanding Officer Zone RS 1 Headquarters, Kaduna
Penpushing reports that Acting Zonal Public Relations Officer of the Corps Olasalem Akubor made this known in a statement on Tuesday adding that the newly appointed Acting Commanding Officer and has since assumed duty.
The statement wishes him a very successful tenure, explaining that after overseeing Ogun State Command he was thereafter transferred to Zone RS 1 headquarters Kaduna as Zonal Head, Operations. Zone RS 1 headquarters Kaduna supervises Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States.
Penpushing further reports that Akubor who doubles as Superintendent Route Commander in the statement added that in a recent Senior Officers deployment by the Corps Marshal Shehu Muhammed, Ahmed was promoted to the new rank as the Acting Zonal Commanding Officer.
The statement said Ahmed holds an M.Sc Biochemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, he joined Federal Road Safety Corps( FRSC) in 1996 and he has worked in different parts of Nigeria with track record of successes.
‘You may wish to recall his success at clearance of the famous Ogere Gridlock which subsists till date as well as successful management of the then chaotic Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during its reconstruction’, the statement reads.
‘These and more feats earned him several FRSC Management Commendations from National Headquarters Abuja. CC Umar is also a recipient of Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Award of Excellence’, the statement added.
