FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TARGETS ONE MILLION BENEFICIARIES OF N-POWER SOON, OSINBAJO

He said, traders from Remoland, in Ogun East Senatorial District, have been enumerated and captured electronically through the “marketmoni” which is being operated through cooperative societies at a sum of N100,000 and “tradermoni” whereby beneficiaries are entitled to N10,000.

The Vice President advised the traders in ensuring that they all key into Federa programmes when they are available”, noting  that  the Federal government has played its own part in bringing development to Remoland through the provision of an enabling environment, but explained that the responsibility for doing cargo airport rests squarely on the state government.

“When Dapo Abiodun comes in as the next Governor of Ogun State, he will be able to complete the construction of the abandoned Cargo Airport located between Iperu and Ilishan road, in Ikenne Local Government Area”, he said.

Penpushing also reports that, Osinbajo affirmed that Remoland has benefitted more from the Federal presence, in terms of good roads and electrification projects to attract potential investors into the zone,adding, “we have Federal Government presence here in Remoland and we can still do more’.

‘We are already constructing the Ikorodu/Sagamu road. It is an important road and the contract for it was awarded six months ago. And when it is completed, it would help to ease traffic from Ikorodu to Sagamu and also, from Sagamu to Ikorodu’,he said.

“Also, here with us in this meeting, I have brought the Managing Director (MD) of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), who is also an illustrious son of Remoland. We have begun the rehabilitation of Ilishan/Iperu water scheme through OORBDA. The design of the water scheme has begun and it would be completed soon. We have a number of projects we have embarked in Remoland’.

“In our midst today, we have the MD, Niger Delta Power Development Company (NDPDC), Mr Chinedu Ugboh, and we have a substation in Remoland but it is not enough to take care of Iperu, Ilishan and other communities. So, we are doing transmission to improve electricity in Remoland.

“Also, I have good news for you, that you will have a passport office in Remoland and there would not be any need to go to either Lagos or Abeokuta (Ogun state) or Abuja to get international passports. We are already paying attention to ecological funds and one of the projects is ongoing in Ikenne.

The Federal government doesn’t come and do it but it is the communities that bring them to the fore. But the Federal government only puts in money there for execution where there is a need for intervention.

“We don’t want people to be jealous of us, but we will do it carefully. With all these projects in place, once we have stable light and good roads, investment will come in naturally”, Osinbajo said.
