FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SPENDS N3.5MILLION MONTHLY TO FEED SHITTE LEADER, EL- ZAKZAKY, SAYS MINISTER

The Minister was said to have claimed to be making the comment off record, but the video however, still made its way to the public, with part of the content saying, “the issue of whether, where he (Mr El-Zakzaky) is, at least let’s keep it off record, that he is in a residence and you know eating at the…It costs the Government about N3.5 million every month to feed him. Honestly, don’t quote me, but these are the facts’.

Penpushing reports that, at a point the Information Minister’s statement was  interjected by the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, who jokingly mocked the figures saying “then you people need to take me in o.I can take N500,000” monthly to be held in prison by the Government.

However, it is recalled that Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN)  has been in detention over two years ago after soldiers clamped down on his supporters killing at least 347 of them.

Penpushing also recalled that, the army accused the alleged protesters of blocking a public road being used then by the Army Chief, Tukur Buratai. The killings received condemnation of  local and international rights groups and is currently being investigated by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
