FEDERAL GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES PRICE CHECKER PORTAL
Abiam who is a Resource person from the efficiency unit of the Federal Ministry of Finance, explained that the platform would enable procurement officers to compare prices of goods from multiple vendors to check waste, block leakages and increase productivity.
In her own remark, three procurement officers, Mr Adewale Adepejo, described the initiative as laudable and noted the need for continuous staff training to enhance the process, a position corroborated by Daniel Bassey who is also a procurement officer.
Similarly, other participants expressed the hope that the implementation of the policies would help to break the bureaucratic bottlenecks in the procurement process, while the Head, Efficiency Unit in the ministry Mr Ojonimi Imaji said the sensitisation was necessary on the need for stakeholders to adopt the initiative towards promoting good governance and eliminating corruption.
The Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Osinowo, in his remark reaffirmed the commitment of the present administration to support programmes geared towards strengthening the economy.
