FAYOSE TURNS PRAYER WARRIOR TO SECURE VICTORY FOR ANNOINTED CANDIDATE
Penpushing reports that, Olusola was the choice candidate of Governor Ayodele Fayose who deployed his entire arsenal in support of his Deputy, the winner of the primaries. However, against all expectations, the election was rancour free and peacefully and transparently conducted, with both aspirants commending the process.
The supporters and admirers of Adeyeye described his performance as a good outing, in view of the known position of Fayose against his candidature. It is also recalled that the third aspirant, Biodun Olujimi had earlier stepped down for Adeyeye in order to brighten his chances of winning.
Penpushing reports that, the move, however, did not yield results in favour of Adeyeye, with Olusola still winning with a margin of about 419 votes. The records showed that in the primary election, 2,086 were accredited for the election but only 1,968 were eligible after others were disqualified, while seven votes were voided.
Penpushing also reports that the Deputy Governor joined the race with a clear advantage following his endorsement by the State Working Committee of the party in the State with the influence of Governor Fayose.
