Explosion rocks Islamic school in abuja
An explosion has occurred on Monday afternoon at the Tsangayar Sani Uthman Islamic School in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with report having it that two people were killed.
Penpushing reports that a security source, however, confirmed the death of one person, a student, in the explosion, while as at the time of filing this report no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The police first information report showed that Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) killed two people and injured two others, while information about the explosion got to a Divisional Police Officer who mobilised police operatives, including officials from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), to the scene.
Penpushing further reports that a gory picture of the incident was also shared, while the police in the report said three people from Katsina had visited the owner of the Islamiya, Adamu Ashimu, who they claimed came with the explosives.
The police added that two of them died in the explosion and that the other person was critically injured and hospitalized, stressing that the owner of the Islamic school, has been arrested, and will be interrogated.
