Community set for maiden annual Eleyele/Kere day celebration
The Eleyele /Kere community located in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State has concluded arrangements for a befitting maiden edition of annual Eleyele/Kere Day scheduled to hold between October 19- 22, 2023.
Penpushing reports that traditional ruler of the community, Oba (Dr) Mosuid Olaiya Yusuf made this known at a press conference held on Thursday held at the community, and called on indigenes in diaspora to come home for developmental growth of their homestead.
The royal father gave details of the ceremony as include rally slated for Thursday 19th of October, Islamic lectures on Friday 20th of October, grandfinale scheduled to hold on Saturday 21st October and Church thanksgiving to take place on Sunday 22nd October.
Penpushing further reports that Yusuf added that over 26 pupils have been enrolled in school by his Foundation known as M.O.Ola Yusuf Foundation, with assurance that the scholarship gesture has come to stay.
The royal father used the opportunity to call attention of the state government to the bad roads within the community and appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun administration to come to their aid, in addressing the deplorable condition of the roads
Penpushing also reports that he observed that the poor condition of the road network in the area is affecting the development and industrialization of the area, urging the government on need to pay attention for reconstruction of the roads
‘We have problems with our roads, the roads are very bad, every year we try to make good but when the rain comes it makes nonsense of it. We are taking this opportunity to appeal to the Ogun government and to the local government, to help us in respective of this, so they make this road strong and permanent. If the roads are good, it helps our farmers and trades. These are the major challenges we have”, he said
Penpushing reports that in a related development, Elder Yemi Arogundade who corroborated the monarch’s position and observation, emphasized that the bad road network in the area is hindering the development of the town.
