ELECTORAL MATERIALS FOR JOURNALISTS ELECTION TO BE FLOWN TO VENUE, SAYS ELECTION UMPIRE
‘We are fully prepared for the election, all logistics are in place and I want to also inform you that all our sensitive materials would be flown in from Abuja. We shall ensure the election is credible for politicians to learn from us. We are ensuring all necessary steps for good election. We can do it and we have to prove it’, Muhammed said.
The committee boss also disclosed that thirty-three aspirants are contesting for various positions, out of which seven are eyeing the Presidency and they include; Waheed Odusile(Lagos),Dele Atunbi(FCT),Chris Isuquzo(Enugu),Seiyafa Uzaka(Balyesa),Jacob Edi(FCT),Abiodun Olalere(Osun) and Mike Aladenika(Edo).
Earlier in his speech, President of the union, Waheed Odusile assured delegates of comfort before, during and after the congress, explaining that the choice of Abeokuta as venue was the decision of National Executive Council (NEC) of the union.
Penpushing reports that, Odusile who is also contesting for second term added that, the choice of Abeokuta was unique, in view of the fact that journalism started 1859 in Nigeria, from the ancient town, which is today the Ogun State Capital
