Alleged customs Iseyin killings: Governor Makinde donates N5million to deceased families

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, donated N1million each to the families of five persons allegedly killed recently in Iseyin town by men of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Penpushing reports that the governor, while speaking at the palace of the Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Dr. Abdulganiy Salau, said that the state government will take up the issue of the killings with the Nigeria Customs.

The officials of the customs it is recalled allegedly shot dead four persons, while one critically injured following stray bullets while pursuing suspected smugglers,a development which necessitated Iseyin Elders Council (IEC)  calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to order arrest and immediate prosecution of customs officers allegedly responsible for the killings.

Penpushing further reports that Makinde, while commiserating with the families of the deceased admonished the people of Iseyin to allow peace to reign in the community and not to take laws into their hands.
