EGBA CHRISTIAN CHIEFS COUNCIL INSTAL 32 NEW GENERAL CHIEFS
The Chiefs were later individually handed over Bibles and constitution of the council with a charge to be up to task in their roles as the Ambassadors of the Council, at all time, and avoid and activities that may make them derail from the religious assignments.
Penpushing further reports that, in his sermon, Bishop Peter Oyero said the council is not for rituals, as insinuated in some quarters, and they should not also turn it for cultists and cultism, calling on them to further propagate God’s work to their communities and world at large
The cleric who spoke on the theme, ’We are the Light of the World’, pointed out that genuine Christians should see themselves as shining light, created to diffuse darkness at all time, stressing that the new chiefs should emulate Jesus Christ.
Penpushing also reports that, the clergyman called on the chiefs, to use rest of their lives to serve God, and humanity, stating that his observation showed that all of them are elderly persons, who should realized that, what they are left to do is serving God until they are called to the world beyond.
‘I am imploring you let us emulate Jesus Christ in our attitude and also pass the good work to our children. No doubt, when I see all of you, I noticed that, you are all elderly and what is expected of you is to serve God to the end. It is high time we be cautious of the character and behavioural attitude of our children’, Oyero emphasised
The Chiefs include; Chief Akionla Ade-Adeniji(Jaguna Onigbagbo Egba),Chief Dola Jibowo(Seriki Onigbabo Egba),Chief Ebenezer Wole Abiodun(Bada Onigbagbo Egba),Baale Tunji Falola(Lukotun Onigbagbo Egba),Chief Benjamin Ogunmodede(Asiwaju Ongbagbo Egba),Chief Olufemi Soluade(Aare Onakakanfo Onigbagbo Egba),Chief Abiola Popoola(Agbaakin Onigbagbo Egba and Chief Banji Oguntayo(Akinrogun Onigbagbo Egba.
