Editor, First News online newspapers, Segun Olatunji resigns

The General Editor of First News Online Publication, Segun Olatunji has reigned from the organization in view of the management stand on his recent ordeal in the hand of the military and regarding the story on Nigeria’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.

Penpushing reports that Olatunji in his resignation letter addressed to the Publisher and Managing Director of First Media Network Limited dated May 8, 2024 explained that it became imperative for him to resign his appointment for safety of his person and his family.

‘In view of the latest development regarding the Gbajabiamila story and the stance of the company’s Management, I hereby tender my resignation as the General Editor of First News. It has become imperative for me to resign my appointment for the safety of my person and my family’, the letter reads.

Penpushing further reports that the journalist in the letter emphasized and expressed optimism that in no distant time, the truth will come out and then it will be his word against theirs, just as he called on management of the organization to fully settle the one-year outstanding salaries being owed him

‘However, I want to state that in no distant time, the truth will come out and then it’ll be my word against theirs. I hope the Management of First Media Network Limited, publishers of First News newspaper, will be magnanimous enough to fully settle the one-year outstanding salaries I am being owed, in no time’, Olatunji wrote.

‘I thank the company’s management for giving me the opportunity to contribute my quota to its operations in the past four years. Yours sincerely’, the letter of resignation emphasized
