Easter celebration: Federal University of Agriculture Vice Chancellor sues for peace
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof.Kolawole Salako has called on Nigerians to live in harmony by embracing love and peace in the true spirit of Easter celebration.
Penpushing reports that, Salako made the call in his Easter celebration message, adding that the whole essence of the festive period is Christ selfless love and sacrifice to humanity through his death on the cross and resurrection.
The Vice Chancellor, therefore, urged Christians across the world to imbibe the Easter spirit of love and sacrifice for the general good of the society as a whole, and the need to shun rancor and acrimony.
Penpushing further reports that, Salako used the occasion in charging Christians to compliment government’s efforts at combating the spread of coronavirus by strictly adhering to medical protocols while attending Easter Picnic at religious and event centres.
The Vice Chancellor charged staff and students of the university to shun rancour and acrimony reiterating that the development and progress of the institution is tied to love and unity among individuals therein, irrespective of political and religious affiliation.
Penpushing also reports that, he commended members of the university community for religious harmony and peaceful co-existence assuring that as their Vice-Chancellor he will continue to promote the spirit of oneness through unwavering commitment to fairness, equity, justice and transparency which are the cardinal objectives and mainstay of his administration 12-Point agenda.
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated his administration commitment to making the university safe for members of staff and guests by sustaining consistent fumigation of the nooks and crannies of the campus, provision of hand sanitizers, water and soaps and enforcing use of face masks.
