Change your attitude; stop neglecting your journalism constituency, Bankole tells Ogun state information commissioner

A political juggernaut in Ogun State, Chief Alani Bankole has advised Commissioner of Information, Waheed Odusile to stop the habit of neglecting his journalism constituency, noting that such behaviour is detrimental to his office and the profession.

Penpushing reports that Bankole said this at the 10 year anniversary of Olufemi Omilani in the broadcasting industry, adding that, Odusile non challance to journalism body when he became commissioner was  uncalled for and need to re-trace his steps in his own interest and of the noble profession.

The known frankly speaking politician declared that Odusile has been unfair to the profession and membership, and called on the Chief Press Secretary to Ogun State Governor, Kunle Somorin said to have come to represent him (Odusile) at the occasion to deliver his message, adding that any time he (Bankole)has opportunity to see Odusile, he would tell him to his face.

“The Commissioner has not been fair enough to his journalism constituency. His distance is not good enough, and this is unfair to the journalism industry. He needs to change. I want to call on the Chief Press Secretary, said to have come to represent him, to deliver my message to him. Anytime, I have the opportunity seeing him face to face I will tell him”‘, Bankole empjasised.

Penpushing further reports that, Bankole who is the chairman of the occasion commended feats recorded by Omilani, within ten years of practice in the broadcasting industry, adding that he has been identified as one of reliable and competent broadcasters in the state, expressing optimism that, he would go places on the job

The Egba High Chief called on media practitioners to always work towards better Nigeria, adding that they cannot afford to sit on the fence, stressing that the practitioners are major stakeholders in nation building, and should not fold their arms rather should join other stakeholders to bail out the country from challenges currently being faced
