Six killed in road crash while returning from mountain pilgrimage
Six persons were killed on Sunday in a lone road accident which occurred along Eripa-Otan Ayegbaju road, Boluwaduro Local Government of Osun State when the driver lost control and the bus ran into a ditch
Penpushing reports that, eyewitness account has it that victims of the accident involving the vehicle registration number LAGOS GGE 109 DY, belonged to SS Peter and Paul, Catholic Church, Lagere, Ile Ife, were returning from the annual ‘Oke Maria’ Catholic pilgrimage in Otan Ayegabju, when the accident happened
The Osun Police Command Public Relations Officer, Folashade Odoro, confirmed the sad news adding that six people died in the accident while nine others sustained various degrees of injury, with remains of the dead deposited in Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo for post mortem as well as those injured being treated at a private hospital in Iree, Osun State.
Penpushing further reports that, the annual Oke Maria Catholic pilgrimage, took place between Saturday and Sunday, where Catholics gathered for prayers at the Oke Maria Mountain located in Otan Ayegbaju town of Osun State.
