Death of Oba Ogunleye is a thunderbolt to our hearts, Penpushing Media management laments

The Management and Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, owner of Online Newspapers and Television, have commiserated with the family of the late traditional ruler of Akinale community in Owu Kingdom, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye.

Penpushing reports that in a condolence letter written to the royal family which was signed by Founder of the Media organization, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji described the death of the renowned monarch and a cerebral journalism icon as thunder bolt in the hearts of membership

‘The Management and Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, owner of Online Newspapers and Television on behalf of our membership across the globe, write to condole the royal family and the Akinale community of Owu Kingdom, on the demise of Towulade Akinale, Oba Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye which occurred on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at the age of 79’, the letter reads

‘The shocking news of the passage of the renowned monarch and a cerebral journalism icon came as a thunder bolt to our hearts, and it was difficult to believe when the sad news spread like wildfire, indeed, the demise was a setback and big blow to the traditional institutions and journalism, as well as law profession’, Kayode-Adedeji wrote.

‘We recalled his presence as a pioneer member of Penpushing platform to the maiden edition of the annual lecture/ ceremony of the media outlet six years ago, as the royal father of the day, and this added value to the status of the organization, and it is regrettable to note that death snatched him as we prepare for our 6th anniversary lecture, where he is expected to play another major role’, the letter added.

‘The late Ogunleye was a mentor to many journalists across the globe, with large numbers of his mentees doing well in their various positions. His death is akin to setting ablaze the rich library of knowledge, as he was a versatile journalist, lawyer who specialized on conflicts resolution, and deployed his wealth of experiences to better the lot of the society’

‘The journalism world, law profession, Akinale community, no doubt will miss him, and his death is a huge loss to the family, Akinale community, journalism and law profession, while it is indisputable that his legacies are immense and remain indelible in our hearts’, the organization emphasised.

‘From Penpushing Media, no doubt we will miss this quintessential and courageous monarch, journalist and legal professional on no mean repute, while it is our prayer that God shall grant him eternal rest’, the letter added.

‘Hopefully, we had envisaged that a loving soul and this great man would be with us for a long time, but it has pleased the Almighty God, the unquestionable, to take him home for a deserved rest. Adieu, our own Kabiyesi Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye and good night’, the management stressed.
