Crowd besieges MTN office over barred telephone lines
Hundreds of MTN subscribers on Monday morning stormed the network provider office following the bar of their telephone lines by the largest mobile network in Nigeria, with subscribers running into millions
Penpushing reports this development was recorded in number of the offices across the country, while at the Ibadan office findings showed that some members of the crowd became violent and threw stones at the building.
The management of the MTN, as at the time of filing this report is yet to make any official statement and was not clear how many subscribers are victims of the development, just as number of subscribers alleged that the company did so as part of efforts to frustrate a planned nationwide anti-government protest scheduled to commence on Thursday
Penpushing further reports that MTN, had on Sunday barred the telephone lines of hundreds of users for allegedly failing to link their National Identification Numbers (NIN) with their mobile phone numbers.
