Crimes commission busts ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ hideout in Makurdi, arrests 14 Suspects
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)has bust hideout of suspected internet fraudsters known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ in Markudi, Benue State and subsequently arrested fourteen of them during the raid.
Penpushing reports that the Head, Media and Publicity of the commission Wilson Uwujaren made this known in a statement adding that operatives of the Zonal Command of the agency carried out the arrest on Thursday
‘Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, arrested 14 suspected internet fraudsters in Makurdi, Benue State.’,Uwujaren said
Penpushing further reports that he gave identities of the suspects as include: Solomon Oloche, Innocent Ochola, Aselo Kendra Wisdom, Simon Jeff, Innocent Raphael, Akula Kelvin, Emmanuel Okanche, Francis Chikodirie, Atoo Michael, Ochayi Nelson, Ngutor Paul, Michael Tyobe, Samuel Okanche, and Patience Tseaa .
The statement explained that the suspects were arrested after series of surveillance based on intelligence on their alleged criminal activities, adding that items recovered from them include a Toyota Camry Car, 14 iPhones, 11 Android phones, 6 Laptop computers, different ATM Cards, a flash drive, MTN Router, Tus bike and several incriminating documents.
Penpushing also reports that Uwujaren in the statement made available to journalists on Thursday said the suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
