Traditionalists, Christians Clergymen, Muslims Clerics converge on Ilaro to offer spiritual prayers for Solomon Olamilekan ahead of 2027 governorship ambition 

Religious bodies comprising traditionalists, Christians and Muslims converged on Ilaro town, headquarters of Yewaland in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State on Sunday to offer prayers and incantations on behalf of Senator Solomon Olamilekan popularly called Yayi.

Penpushing reports that the session kicked started with the traditionalists performing the rites inside the Yewa Traditional Council Hall in the ancient town with Olu Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle leading other monarchs in Yewaland to the ceremony.

The traditionalists led by Oluwo Ifa Awori, Chief Ojekunle Adesina conducted one hour rites, offering prayers to dietes and ancestors to seek their blessings for Governorship hopeful and his 56th birthday anniversary.

Penpushing further reports that the Oluwo Ifa used the occasion in calling on the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at National Assembly through the Yewa Traditional Council to assist the body on completion of its ongoing Ifa secretariat in the district.

The train of the programme led by Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland later moved to his palace for the Muslims session with prayers by Vice President League of Imams and Alfas Yewaland, Imam Akewukonwo and reading of quaran to kick start the programme which also lasted for one hour with sermon by Chief Imam of Ilara central mosque, Alhaji Moruf Adeleye who expressed optimism on the ambition of Adeola as the 2027 is fast approaching.

Penpushing also reports that similarly Chief Imam of Tube Central mosque prayed against obstacles ahead of Adeola governorship ambition and equally called for joint prayers from the league of Imams in the zone.

The Chief Imam of Ota-Awori Central mosque Sheikh Sabiq Ibrahim Aina spoke on the topic “Aremo Yayi the Legend” and eulogised the governorship hopeful, adding that he(Adeola) performances showed that politics is favourable to the zone, having embarked on transformation of the zone.

Penpushing reports that he added that the Federal lawmaker is a blessing to Ogun West Senatorial District and called on the zone to rally round him, as a leader of purpose and impact towards his 2027 ambition

The third and last segment of the programme was moved to Redeem Christians Church of God(RCCG), Rock of Ages Chapel located within the palace with church choir ushering in guests with melodious spiritual songs which ignited the traditional rulers in embarking in dance and waving their horse whips, symbols of their royal stools to appreciate God.

Penpushing further reports that Venerable Olusola Ajayi in his sermon likened Adeola to Jeremiah in the Bible who broke down in tears when he was told the wall of Jerusalem had broken down, and had to return to rebuild Jerusalem.

The cleric thanked the traditional institution for organizing the event,adding that the senator need to be rally round towards his governorship ambition pointing out that he is not a selfish politician, but one with genuine intentions to rule Ogun State.

Penpushing also reports that he pointed out that Olamilekan has no doubt transformed Ogun Central Senatorial District with various infrastructure facilities which cut across the zone,emphasizing that his performance is unprecedented, calling for joint prayers for him by the monarchs.

Meanwhile, some other notable dignitaries at the event include High Chief Abayomi Olanrewaju Bashorun (Seriki of Otta and Ado Odo Otta Federal Constituency Aspirant), Dr Yemisi Bamgbose, Goke Babalola(General Manager Fresh FM Abeokuta) and Prof Jendele Hungbo) among others
